Mr. Alvarado brings over 20 years of legal, business and tax experience to Alvarado Law. Mr. Alvarado’s diverse clientele includes sole proprietors, start-up companies, small and medium-sized companies, and large, established companies. Mr. Alvarado also represents numerous individuals, including some of the most sophisticated and wealthy individuals in the country.

Prior to founding the Alvarado Law Firm, Mr. Alvarado practiced corporate, real estate, and tax law with Christensen Miller Fink Jacobs Glaser Weil & Shapiro LLP (now Glaser Weil LLP) in Los Angeles. He also practiced corporate, real estate, estate planning and tax law at Berg & Parker LLP in San Francisco (now part of K&L Gates).  Mr. Alvarado was also a Senior Tax Consultant in the San Francisco office of Coopers & Lybrand LLP (now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers) where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and international taxation.

Prior to attending law school Mr. Alvarado enjoyed a successful ten year career in public accounting and private industry. Mr. Alvarado, a former CPA, began his career as an auditor in the San Diego offices of Deloitte, LLP. He held significant positions in large companies including Controller of a finance subsidiary of the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States (now the AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company) and Senior Finance Manager of U.S. Home Corporation, a NYSE listed company real estate developer (now part of Lennar Corporation).

Mr. Alvarado is licensed to practice law in California and New York. He is a member of Business Law and Estate Planning Sections of the California State Bar and the Sports and Entertainment Section of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Alvarado is a speaker on corporate and tax law issues. Speaking engagements have included seminars on “Tax-Deferred Exchanges” and “Formation and Operation of Limited Liability Companies.”

Mr. Alvarado received Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics, cum laude, from UC Santa Barbara, and his J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall).
